Words can’t even express how much I loved taking this quick road trip to Los Angeles and Orange County with my husband! We had an incredible time and took a much-needed (and super short) break for some adult time together. It has taken me way too long to get this post up about our trip (a little under two months), I know—it’s ridiculous! However, I’m a wife and mom of two, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, I’m in school getting my MBA, I’m working & blogging & writing, and let’s just say I’m permanently exhausted!
But against all odds, I’ve finally completed a mini summary of our trip to LA & Disneyland, and some of the outfits I wore. There’s also a video of our trip above! If you want to skip ahead in the vlog to our arrival at Disneyland, it’s at 6:28!
After several long hours in the car, we arrived at Aloft El Segundo LAX and immediately went to enjoy some time outside and by the pool.
I’m wearing this dress from Olivia James Apparel. It’s no longer available in the color I’m wearing, but it IS available in heather grey and it was on sale the last time I checked! I also bought this hat for the trip, I love the blush color. It’s now sold out but you can go to the website and sign up to receive an email when it’s back in stock!
While we were outside, the hotel turned on the amazing outdoor fireplaces and even though it was cold, I wasn’t ready to let go of this dress-wearing weather so in the picture above I’m wearing this dress from 2weeksnotice clothing (last time I checked, it was on sale for $26!). It was rainy much of the time we were there, but when I’m traveling I get in that vacation mindset where I want to pretend it’s warm even when it isn’t! I have my resort-ready clothes, and my swimsuit, I’m not just gonna let them go to waste, right? I have to wear them! Tell me I’m not the only one :).
On Saturday night we went to Koreatown and had dinner at a restaurant called Quarters Korean BBQ, it was delicious and I’d definitely recommend it! I’m wearing this black midi dress with the emerald green lace “Lindsay” kimono that I received from LuLaRoe consultant Jacci Britzzalaro. In case you can’t tell from the pictures we had a lot of fun even while we were just waiting for our table!
It rained a lot when we went to Disneyland, but it didn’t put a damper on our day! One of my go-to outfits if I can’t decide what I should wear is a white top (whether it’s a tee/blouse/statement top, whatever) and jeans so I went for minimal and comfortable when dressing for Disneyland and wore this v-neck tee and these amazing skinnies, and a red hoodie from Evy’s Tree that they don’t have anymore unfortunately. I also wore these sneakers because I knew we’d be walking around all day. They are ridiculously comfortable!
Every time I watch the video from our trip to LA and Disneyland, I get a huge urge to go back! I miss it so much and I definitely miss living so close to it! If watching our adventures in Disneyland doesn’t make you want to go right now, I don’t know what will! 🙂
Finally, I can’t talk about our trip without mentioning the new luggage Max found at the end of his Disneyland birthday surprise scavenger hunt! These bags are amazing and we both loved all the pockets, compartments, and features of our suitcases from iFLYluggage. Also, I love that the color is unique! When we use them on a flight, I think it’ll be easy to spot them when we go to pick up our baggage.
I chose a super comfortable outfit for our drive home, this sweater is classic and warm, I like the white band around the neckline and sleeves. I love these high waisted distressed knee jean leggings and wear them a ton. The ones I’m wearing are petite, but when I bought them they also had them available in regular sizes! Again, I’m wearing these sneakers because gosh darn it they’re REALLY that comfortable and they’re cute too. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed experiencing Disneyland with us on our first trip there together! Do you have a favorite trip you’ve taken recently? Share it in the comments along with why it was so special for you!
