We have moved a lot. If you’ve read my blog post on our master bedroom reveal then you may remember that we had moved 14 times from when we got married in 2012 until 2017. Since I wrote that post, we have moved AGAIN. To another rental house. And we hoped and planned to only be here for 6 months so we did not want to hang things on the walls or spend a lot of time and energy in decorating.
However, I want my kids to enjoy their room even if it will just be their room for a little while. And even though I know they will make messes in it . . . A LOT!
In today’s post, I’m focusing on G. I fondly call him my Hawaii baby, which is the reason I chose the tropical green rug from Lorena Canals for him!
And if you’re wondering why I call him my Hawaii baby, it’s because for what seemed like a long time, we tried to get pregnant. A year and a half into our marriage, and two months after we moved to Hawaii, we got pregnant with G! He was almost born in Hawaii but we moved back to California about 2 ½ months before he was born.
Anyway, I think this tropical green rug is AMAZING—it’s such a fun print and reminds me of living in Hawaii and it’s machine washable!! If you know me, you know I am big on things being machine washable especially if it’s for my children. I even try to get them machine washable stuffed animals when possible. And a machine washable rug sounded like something we needed in our boy’s room since they are really good at making messes. The adorable green basket is also from Lorena Canals and is ALSO machine washable!
Also, during this last move we thought it would be a great time to transition G out of his crib and into a toddler bed! I’m very happy with it. The toddler bed is from DaVinci Baby, and the crib we purchased for G was also DaVinci Baby brand.
Along with his toddler bed, another must-have to make this room G’s was his small stuffed animal collection. Can you tell we love Disney? One of the assistants at G’s school calls us the Disney family. 🙂
With these easy additions of a new bed, a great rug, basket, and his stuffed animals, G has a cozy place to play, read, and sleep until we move into our new house!
Are you living in a rental temporarily? How do you make it your own? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
