Greetings from Grace Bay in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos! It is seriously gorgeous here.
This is the first vacation my husband Max and I have taken since December 2013 (and now we have two kids!). In between that time we didn’t even go for a weekend away anywhere. And I love to travel. Crazy, right? Saying we were in need of some rest and relaxation is a huge understatement.
As we prepped for the trip a lot of people asked us where we were going. When we said Turks and Caicos we got blank stares. To be fair we live in California, so it’s pretty far away. Hawaii and Mexico are more widely visited destinations. Because of that, and our wildly awesome experience in TCI, I decided to write this post!
Four Reasons to Visit Turks and Caicos:
- Grace Bay was voted the #1 beach in the world on TripAdvisor’s 2016 list and it’s not hard to see why. I took all of these pictures and trust me, you don’t need a filter for this gorgeous beach . . . it really is as beautiful as it looks. White sand and bright blue water. Gorgeous.
- The people in Turks and Caicos are kind to tourists. The people of TCI want you to visit the islands and they welcome you!
- You can (most-likely) find accommodations within your price range. When I first started looking at hotels in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, I was like what? There’s no way we can afford this! But I was determined. I searched and I searched some more and then I searched even more. You can find good accommodations in a variety of price ranges. You can stay in a nice hotel on the beach, or a great condo within walking distance to it, or you can stay at a resort, and we found that visiting during the “low season” made prices a bit lower too.
- You can literally get away. Providenciales (also known as Provo) is a place where you can escape the crowds. As I said before, we chose to visit during “low season” and there are moments when we feel like we’re on our very own island, like Provo is a well-kept secret, and it adds to the luxurious feeling that comes from getting away!
This is a cafe in Provo called “Melt” and their ice cream was so delicious! A vacation deserves sweets, right?
We loved their hazelnut and chocolate flavors.
That water though!
