Mark Twain wrote of Lake Tahoe, “ . . . As it lay there with the shadows of the mountains brilliantly photographed upon its still surface I thought it must surely be the fairest picture the whole earth affords.”
Across The Street From Gorgeous Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places, and in my opinion, one of the most beautiful. Upon our nighttime arrival to Hotel Azure, I was glad to find the close proximity of the hotel to the lake–whether it’s winter or summer the views of Lake Tahoe are incredible! We stopped at the hotel lobby to check-in and were greeted by a welcoming fireplace and smiling faces, which is a good start to a vacation in my book.
Hotel Azure Lobby
Our Deluxe One Bedroom Suite was located on the second floor of the hotel, a short drive from the lobby. The suite was amazing—900 square feet, a full kitchen, a dining area, a comfortable living room, and a balcony with spectacular views of Lake Tahoe. Additionally, all of Hotel Azure’s rooms come with free WiFi, which came in handy! I also liked the fact that there was ample closet space for suitcases, and boots.

Hotel Azure Amenities
Heated outdoor pool and hot tub year round, a fitness center (I seriously appreciate hotels with fitness rooms, especially on long trips, because it can help me stay aware of my personal health and fitness), and a concierge that can help you with local lift tickets, boat rentals, and more. Plus, there’s a game room. Hotel Azure offers some great amenities and I would’ve loved to stay longer to enjoy more of them!
Our Feast of a Breakfast at Bear Beach Café
The morning after our arrival, we were eager to eat a filling breakfast that would give us the energy we needed for our day of playing in the snow and let me tell you, the Bear Beach Café exceeded our expectations and satisfied our appetites.
They gave us kid’s menus and a basket of crayons for the boys to color with—I call that a win. We ordered fruit for the kids, and two hot chocolates for Max and me–both the fruit and our mugs filled with chocolatey-goodness and fresh whipped cream arrived at our table super fast—I call that a second win! It’s still funny to me how these things have become so important to me as a parent.
We ordered the Lake View Omelet and the Sierra Mountain Special. Both meals were delicious and the portions were huge so we ended up having leftovers. We’d love to eat here again, and I’d especially love another cup of hot chocolate!
I can speak for the entire family when I say we LOVED our stay in the Deluxe One Bedroom Suite at Hotel Azure. The spacious layout and kitchen amenities were must-haves for a happy stay with children. And we truly enjoyed the incredible views of Lake Tahoe from our balcony. So beautiful.
