It’s no secret that I love PinkBlush! Back in August, I talked about this beautiful maxi dress that I received from PinkBlush and wore to my son’s birthday party. This time, I decided to switch it up and feature this beautiful draping olive green coat. I like the way it contrasts with this sweet black and white striped top with crochet detail. I love this combination of olive green and stripes!

In case you haven’t heard of PinkBlush already, they have a beautiful line of clothes for women that can also transition into pregnancy. I wish I had known about PinkBlush during my two pregnancies. But lucky for me, their women’s line is comfortable and stylish, so I still get to enjoy their clothes even now.

Good luck!

Can you believe it’s almost Christmas Day? There are 3 more sleeps until Christmas and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to experience Christmas morning with my two sweet toddlers. I have loved watching them enjoy Christmas preparations and activities this year, it’s so magical!

As the big day approaches you may still be figuring out what to wear. If so, I hope these two outfit ideas give you some Christmas outfit inspo–each outfit includes the same black lace top, which is $24.99 right now at H&M (I wore a basic long sleeved black tee underneath it), and both outfits are very simple and easy to put together. Either of them can be worn to a Christmas party, on Christmas Sunday to church, or to Christmas dinner.

Is it colder where you live? Add black tights and black booties instead of pumps. Then wear a scarf and coat!

What are you most excited about as Christmas Day approaches? Tell me in the comments!

Mom Uniform

Christmas Trees & Casual Mom Uniform - emilybogner.com

A couple weeks ago (before it got really cold here!) we went to the a Christmas tree lot in town to pick out our tree. This is something I used to do with my dad as a kid and I absolutely loved it. He was so knowledgeable about trees (he was a lumberjack in his younger days), and always managed to find the best tree for our home–a full tree that was perfect for hanging lights and ornaments and for holding our Christmas tree topper so it was straight. And he would ask them to take off just the right amount at the bottom to keep our tree alive past Christmas, and so presents would fit underneath without issue.

I took these things for granted before it was me and my husband searching for a tree. Still, we managed to find a beautiful tree this year among a lackluster selection, and have even gotten compliments on what a great tree it is. Score!

We’re talking about driving to a Christmas tree farm next year where we can pick out our own tree to cut down and bring home. Have you done that before? If so, please share in the comments your experience . . . I want to hear about it.

I also wanted to share with you my mom uniform recently — this comfy, casual, minimal look I’m wearing in the pictures above. This plaid shirt has become a staple in my wardrobe now that the days have cooled down in California, and paired with leggings and boots it’s perfect for keeping up with my kiddos.

What’s your casual winter mom uniform?

On December 1st, our family visited a Christmas Nativity Exhibit at one of our church’s buildings. They had nativities on display from all over the world. They filled rooms with all the beautiful nativities, and we had so much fun taking the boys through the rooms and seeing all of the unique pieces, some of which were handcrafted/handmade by the people who had given them to be put on display temporarily for the exhibit.

It was a very special experience and the boys especially enjoyed looking at the Christmas trees and nativity ornaments. Going to the nativity exhibit was such a perfect way to reflect on our Savior’s birth and to start the month of December off right. We’re focusing extra hard this year on making sure our Christmas is Christ-centered.

I wore this outfit to the exhibit and I’m so glad I did because it ended up being a cold night. As you already know, I have a bit of an over-the-knee boot obsession as I talked about in this post. And I absolutely love how warm and comfy this sweater is. Go check it out now, I’ve also linked the gray one above! And I picked out more pretty sweaters that I loved and linked them above. I adore the sequin one!

How is your December so far? Tell me in the comments!

For this year’s Bogner family Christmas pictures we went for traditional red outfits. I love this warm, minimal look. I would’ve LOVED it even more if everyone had looked at the camera and smiled at the same time in at least one picture, but honestly, I’ve grown to love this picture in spite of the lack of smiles because it tells a story.

It goes a little something like this . . . on a beautiful, crisp, November day. Mom and Dad thought, why don’t we try taking our family Christmas pictures ourselves this year? So we went to a park to find that our regular picture spot was blocked off. Oh well, we’ll just walk all the way across a huge field with our two little boys to a peaceful spot near some trees and set up the tripod there.

Then people keep walking by and the boys don’t understand that we’re taking a picture so they people watch, and Mom struggles to smile in the pictures because she’s trying to push the button to take the picture on her phone (this took more concentration than I expected!). And so the end result is this photo that is beautifully imperfect!
